A Typical Week

Students enjoy a great balance between language study and the opportunity to enjoy their stay in Glasgow.

We recognise that all groups have their own specific requirements and we can supplement or replace the 15 hour General English tuition element of our standard programme with tailored tuition options including, for example, Cambridge, TOEIC or Trinity exam preparation providing 7.5, 15, 22.5 or 25 hours of tuition per week as required.
This ‘pick and mix’ approach effectively means there’s no such thing as a typical week, with group leaders also able to devise their own programme of excursions and activities - which we can help to theme around the interests of the group.

Discover the City

As Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow is alive with energy and style, its thriving cultural and sporting scene making it a fantastic destination for those taking part in our English language courses.

Both our base at Glasgow School of English and the student accommodation are centrally located and close to many of the city’s most popular attractions, while Glasgow is also within easy reach of many well-known tourist destinations. The city’s people are renowned as being among the friendliest you’ll find anywhere and will help to make those attending our courses feel very much at home.

Discover the city

Glasgow boasts a wonderful range of visitor attractions, both historic and contemporary. The much-loved and superbly-refurbished Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is always a hugely popular draw, as are the iconic new Riverside Museum -home to the city’s transport collection - and the Glasgow Science Centre. Art galleries abound, while the city’s vast green spaces include Pollok Country Park, in which can be found the remarkable Burrell Collection. The city is famously the largest retail centre in the UK outside London, and is also home to Scotland’s two biggest football clubs, Celtic and Rangers, as well as the national stadium at Hampden.

Getting around Glasgow

As befits a city of its size, Glasgow is served by a comprehensive transport network, featuring buses, local trains and a subway system which is the third oldest in the world – after London and Budapest.

When I arrived, I was worried because I didn’t speak much English and I was in a new city. However, the first time I came into one of the School’s classrooms I was so pleased to find just how great the School is and that the teachers are all very helpful and supportive.
