IELTS Life Skills B1 is the test for you if you are applying to UK Visas and Immigration for indefinite leave to remain or citizenship and is aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B1 (Intermediate Level). Our preparation course will give you the skills to make sure you can successfully pass the test

This 7.5 hour course will help you develop the speaking and listening skills needed to take part in discussions and to exchange basic information on everyday topics and tasks including: showing contrast/cause/reason or purpose, prioritizing, planning, persuading, narrating, asking about past or future events and expressing future certainty or possibility.

This is a 7.5 hour per week course which runs Monday to Friday from 1.15pm to 2.45pm. This course is offered all year round.

  • Course length between 1-11 weeks - £80 per week
  • Course length 12 weeks or more - £70 per week

The IELTS Life Skills B1 preparation course runs throughout the year, subject to demand. The dates for 2018 are as follows;

Monday 12th November

The IELTS Life Skills examination is a one-to-one oral examination with an examiner and one other candidate. At B1 level the exam lasts for approximately 22 minutes.

The exam is available throughout the world, in locations specified by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and there is a test centre in Edinburgh. For more detailed information about the examination, including booking the test, please visit the "What is IELTS for UKVI" page.
